Surnames: MATHEWS MICKELS DRAEGER BEHN DUNDAS MORGAN BARTON MOORE -----Source: MARSHFIELD NEWS HERALD (Marshfield, Wood Co., Wis.) 03/18/1963, P. 9 ----- Mathews, George (1879? - 15 MAR 1963) Thorp, Clark County, Wis. - Funeral services were conducted today at the Plombon Funeral Home her for George Mathews, 83, route 2, Thorp, who died Friday at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. The Rev. Robert Olson officiated and burial was made in the Lake View Cemetery in Eau Claire. Mr. Mathews was born in Armstrong, Iowa. He was employed in sawmills in Bemidji, Minn., and returned to Armstrong in 1908. In 1916 he moved to a farm in the town of Taft, where he resided until 1959. Surviving are three sons and three daughters, Charles, Myron and Daniel, all of Eau Claire; Mrs. Leo Mickels, Fall Creek, Mrs. Irvin Draeger, Thorp, and Mrs. Irvin Behn, Chippewa Falls; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Dundas and Mrs. Hattie Morgan, both of Armstrong, Iowa; Mrs. Martha Barton, Fontana, Calif., and Mrs. Nellie Moore, Seattle, Wash. |
