MARIAN COLE BECOMES BRIDE OF CHESTER MEISSNER TODAY Wedding Dance to Be Held Here This Evening

The altar of Immanuel Evangelical Church at Chili was adorned with palms for the double-ring wedding ceremony at 2 o’clock this afternoon, during which Miss Marion COLE, Chili, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry COLE, Chili, became the bride of Chester MEISSNER, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin MEISSNER, also of Chili.

Miss Marie WEARS, Marshfield, soloist, sang “Because” and “Together Life’s Pathway We Tread” during the service. Mrs. Albert GRIMM, Chili, pianist, played Lohengrin’s wedding march for the processional and Mendelssohn’s wedding march for the recessional. The Rev. S. A. GUTKNECHT officiated at the nuptial rites.

Serving as the maid of honor was Miss Jeanette BEAVER, Marshfield, fiancée of the bride’s brother, Pfc. Donald COLE, Chili, and now of the Army Air Forces stationed at Wendover Army Airy Field, Wendover, Utah, who served as best man at his sister’s wedding.

Bridesmaids for the occasion were Mrs. Mark RUDY, route 1, Marshfield, cousin of the bridegroom, and Miss Astyre HAMMER, Appleton, fiancée of Ensign Glenn COLE of the U.S. Naval Reserve and a brother of the bride.

Attending the groom were Norman MEISSNER, Chili, his brother, and Herman BEILKE, yeoman, first class, of the U.S. Naval Reserve, Naval Air Station, Glenview, IL, the bride’s cousin. The little flower girl was Betty Jane MEISSNER, the groom’s sister, and the ring bearer was Edward GROBE, his cousin. Robert PRUST, cousin of the bride, and Vernon LINDOW acted as ushers.

A formal wedding gown of white duchess satin styled with bodice top, sweetheart neckline, full-length sleeves, and full net skirt adorned with flowers embroidered in satin was selected by the bride. Attached to a tiara of rhinestones and seed pearls was a finger-tip veil of illusion net edged with Chantilly lace. She wore the groom’s gift, a pearl necklace, and carried a shower bouquet of red and white roses and white swansonia.

Miss Beaver was gowned in a formal styled like the bridal dress, the blue satin having a bouffant net skirt. Her colonial bouquet was fashioned of pink and white carnations. Also styled like the bride’s dress were the pink bridesmaids’ formals. The bridesmaids also had colonial bouquets of pink and white carnations.

Mrs. Harry COLE wore a navy silk crepe for her daughter’s wedding, and the groom’s mother also wore navy crepe with black accessories. Both had corsages of pink and white flowers.

About 100 people will attend the 5 o’clock dinner this evening at the home of the groom’s parents. Pink and white streamers will form a canopy over the bridal table, and in the center of the canopy there will be suspended a white wedding bell. A large decorated wedding cake with miniature bride and groom will be the centerpiece for the table, with candles flanking the cake.

This evening a wedding dance will be held at the New Armory in Marshfield. Mr. and Mrs. MEISSNER will leave for an undisclosed destination for their wedding trip, and after June 1 will be at home to friends on the groom’s father’s farm on rte 1, Chili.

Both Mr. and Mrs. MEISSNER are graduates of Marshfield High School, and the bride also attended Central State Teachers College, Stevens Point. For the past three years she taught school in Clark County
