----- Brandstedter, George (29 SEP 1877 - 13 JAN 1912)

The subject of this sketch was a native of Jackson Co., Wis., born on the farm where his mother resides on Sept. 29, 1877, being at the time of his death 34 years, 3 months and 13 days old. Mr. Brandstedter was one of a large family of brothers, sisters, half-brothers and half-sisters. He grew to manhood in the Fairview vicinity and on Jan. 10, 1904, he was united in the holy bonds of matrimony with Miss Rena Zingsheim. A short time after his marriage he purchased the farm in the town of Mentor, Clark County near the old homestead, which he industriously tilled up to the time of his sudden taking away. He was a man whom all held in esteem and the sympathy of all goes out to the wife and little ones so sorrowfully bereft of a husband's love and a father's affection, and also to his aged mother and other relatives. The funeral was held at Fairview Thursday morning and the interment was in the cemetery at the church. One of the largest congregations that ever assemble out of respect to a departed neighbor, was present on this occasion. There are left to mourn his death, his wife, two little daughters and a son; his mother; seven sisters, Mrs. Mary Melcher, Mrs. Nick Schlicter, Mrs. Tracy Bever of this vicinity, Mrs. Katherine Engle and Mrs. Minnie Quirk of Minneapolis, Mrs. Emma Lubinski of Mondovi, and Mrs. Elizabeth Gutter of Morris, Minn.; and five brothers, Charles of this village, Matt and John of Fairview, Joseph of Los Angeles, Calif., and Frank of Bellingham, Wash.

Mr. Brandstedter was a member of the Fairchild camp of M. W. A.
