----- Brandstedter, Elsie (19 JAN 1891 - 27 JAN 1912)

Miss Elsie, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brandstedter, died at her home in this village (Humbird, Clark County, Wis.) at about seven o'clock last Saturday morning, after an illness of but a few days' durations.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. Church Tuesday afternoon and were attended by the largest congregations that had ever gathered at the church to listen to the last sad rites said over the remains of a friends. Rev. A. A. Marcy, the pastor of the church, spoke from the text, "In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death," and his words brought forth the tears that show the bonds of human sympathy when grief exists.

The choir of the Merrillan church rendered three selections, "Crossing the Bar," Sometime We'll Understand," and "Asleep in Jesus."

The senior class, of which she was a member, were pallbearers, and the remains were laid to rest in the Mentor Cemetery. She leaves to mourn her untimely death, a sorrowing father and mother and two sisters, Mamie and Zella, besides many other relatives and friends.

Among the relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Mrs. Lubinski and daughter of Mondovi, Mrs. Robelia and son, Ladysmith; Mis Alger, Curtiss; Mrs. Christmas, Columbia; Guy Miller, Miss Florence Schultz, Fall Creek; delegation of Royal Neighbors from Fairchild.

The schools were closed all day Tuesday, and all business places during the hours of the funeral.
