Obit: Decker, Magdalena (1896 - 1916)
Surnames: DECKER Source: DORCHESTER HERALD (Dorchester, Clark County, Wis.) 01/07/1916 Decker, Magdalena (1 NOV 1896 - 1 JAN 1916) Died on New Year's Day at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Decker, their daughter, Magdalena, aged nineteen years, of hyperthyroidism. Miss Decker was born at Appleton Nov. 1, 1896, and when about five years of age came to this community (Dorchester, Clark County, Wis.) with her parents who settled on a farm about thee miles southeast of town, where she has lived ever since. Besides her parents she leaves to mourn her three sisters and four brothers, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Rev. Father Beyer officiating, E. J. Fuchsgruber conducting the funeral service, it being one of the largest held here for some time. Miss Decker has been ailing since last August but her sickness was not thought serious for a time, but later was taken to the hospital at Marshfield, where she seembed to improve. After returning home she again began to fail and soon the end came, but we are glad to state the manner of her departure was peaceful. Miss Decker was a young lady of quiet disposition, well liked and honored by all. Life will never be quite the same to those who knew her, while those who were nearest to her will long for her with unutterable longings, long for a daughter's love and sympathy, and a sister's gentle and loving disposition. Those from away who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ulmen, Mrs. Agnes Jensen and Mrs. Arthur Huberty of Appleton; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Brumm and Wm. Decker of Athens, and Mrs. Josephine Gingler of Luxemberg. |
