Hillert, Wilhelmiene (29 Oct. 1855 - 26 April 1932)

Wilhelmiene Krummheuer, daughter of Mr and Mrs. August Krummheuer, was born Oct. 29, 1855 at Brandenburg, Germany. At the age of 12 years she came with her parents and one sister to this country and settled on a farm at Silver Creek in Sheboygan County, Wis. In 1876 they came to Clark County and settled on a farm in the town of Lynn.

October 18, 1877, she was united in the Holy Bonds of matrimony to David Hillert. They settled on a farm which was her home until her death. Mrs. Hillert was a lady of fine personality. She endured the hardships of early pioneer life.

She was an active church member all her life and one of the first ones to take part in the Ladies Aid. Thirteen years ago she suffered a stroke of paralysis from which is never fully recovered. For the last six years she needed constant care. Her daughter, Bertha, died all that was in her power to make her life comfortable, but on April 26, at 8:30 p.m. she called to her heavenly home. She had reached the age of 76 years, five months and 27 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, one son and three daughters, Mrs. Amalie Roder, August on the home farm. Bertha at home and Emma, Mrs. Fred Zipfel, all in the town of Grant. Also son daughter-in-law and on son-in-law, eight grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. One son-in-law, Paul Roder, died a year ago. Two children died in infancy.

The funeral was held Saturday at 1:30 at the Zion’s Lutheran Church, Rev. Buth, officiating. The pallbearers were her nephews: Richard, Arthur, Edward and Fred Hillert, Helmuth Beyer and Henry Winter.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Henry Hillert and daughter Della and Mrs. A. Boortz of Plymouth.
