RAYMOND BRAMELD’S WIDOW AWARDED $7,500 BY COURT

Mrs. William Hemp last week received a letter from Miss Florence Johnson of Flint, Mich., stating that her sister, Mrs. Raymond Brameld now of Sleepy Eye, Minn., had been awarded a verdict of $7,500 by the Minnesota supreme court in the death of her husband, Raymond B. Brameld. The clipping Miss Johnson enclosed follows:

“Mrs. Raymond B. Brameld of Sleepy Eye today won a $7,500 verdict as the supreme court held a Minnesota corporation liable for the death of an employee working outside the state. The woman’s husband was an employee of the Albert Dickenson Co., of Minneapolis. On April 15, 1930, he was killed in an accident while driving a company car near Mason City, Iowa. The company, maintained that because the accident occurred outside the state Mrs. Brameld was not entitled to collect under the Minnesota workman’s compensation law. The supreme court affirmed the industrial commission ruling that she is entitled to collect.”
