STRATFORD - Marlea B. Hein, 77, of Stratford died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at the Colonial Center in Colby.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford.

The visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Sauter/Kundinger Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. A parish prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Marlea Hein

STRATFORD - Marlea B. Hein, 77, of Stratford died on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at the Colonial Center in Colby, where she had lived since Nov. 24, 2003.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stratford. The Rev. Thomas J. Rudolph will officiate. Florence Kaiser will be the organist for St. Joseph's Church Funeral Choir.

Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in the village of Stratford and serving as pallbearers will be Roger, Ronald, Douglas and Michael Hein, Jesse Kulesa and Chad Soback. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Terry Bodiford, Jamie Kulesa, Samuel Hein, William Hein and Jackie Soback.

The visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Sauter/Kundinger Funeral Home, Stratford, and from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. A parish prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Marlea was born on Nov. 18, 1927, in Unity, the daughter of Otto and Beryl (Walrath) Atcherson. She was a graduate of Unity High School. On June 1, 1946, she and Raymond W. Hein were united in marriage at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby. After their marriage, the Heins farmed in the town of Eau Pleine.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Parish Council of Catholic Women, the Little Rose Homemakers Club, the Little Rose Riders Snowmobile Club and a former 4-H leader. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilt making. The Heins spent six winters in Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Ray; and her children, Susan (Terry) Bodiford of North Augusta, S.C., Roger (Shirley) Hein of Stratford, Ronald Hein of Stratford and Douglas (Pamela) Hein of West Bend. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jackie (Chad) Soback, Jamie (Jesse) Kulesa, Michael Hein, Samuel Hein and William Hein, and a step-granddaughter, Heather Bodiford; and three great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother, Wilford (Aurelia) Atcherson of Unity.

She was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Cheryl Hein; and a son, Gordon Hein.
