Surnames: LOPPNOW VOSS GRUNSKE Source: LOYAL TRIBUNE (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) 09/06/1928 Loppnow, Martha (30 AUG 1928) A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in the village on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 30th, when Miss Martha Loppnow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Loppnow, became the bride of Mr. Harry Voss of Horicon, Wis. Rev. H. F. Leschensky performed the ceremony at 2 o’clock. The bride was attired in a gown of white silk crepe with beads and wore a white silk veil. She carried a shower bouquet of roses and sweet peas. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Alma Loppnow, sister-in-law of the bride, who wore a gown of peach georgette and Miss Esther Grunske of Woodland, cousin of the bride and groom, who wore a gown of old rose crepe. Both carried bouquets of dahlias and gladioli. Mr. Voss was attended by Karlie Loppnow, brother of the bride and Armine Voss, brother of the bridegroom. The church was prettily decorated with flowers, as was the home of the bride. There was a large attendance at the wedding. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the brides parents for the immediate relatives and friends. Those from away were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Voss, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Voss, Aug. Gensmer, Mr. Oscar Albert, Mr. and Mrs. Chas., Trittin and Mrs. Wm. Trittin and son Wilfred, all of Horicon, Wis. A surprise shower was given the bride at the home of her parents a week ago Sunday by her sister-in-law Mrs. Al,a Loppnow and cousin Mrs. Arthur Lautenbach assisted by Mrs. Hattie Bart. Many miscellaneous gifts were presented to the couple. The couple left for Horicon Monday morning, September 3rd where they will be at home on the groom’s farm near there. The bride is well known in this vicinity. Her congenial disposition and amiability have attracted a host of friends to whom she has greatly endeared herself. Mr. Voss is a stranger to most of our people. He is industrious and prosperous, respected in the community where he is engaged in farming. |
