Obit: Grassman, John F. (1917-1998)
March, 1998 John F. Grassman John F. Grassman, age 80, of W1934 U.S. Highway 10, Granton, died at 10:30 a.m., March 17, 1998 at Neillsville Memorial Nursing Home. Funeral services were held Friday at Zion American Lutheran Church, Granton, with the Rev. Jerry Lamb officiating. Music was provided by Margie Dahl, organist, and Keith Kogler, and Joan G????, soloists. Pallbearers were members of the dartball team: Roger Nitschke, David Hillert, Bert Hales, Kevin Winter, Bill Ganther, and Mike Kurth. Burial was in Lynn Cemetery - Town of Lynn. Visitation was from 5 - 8 p.m., on Thursday, at Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville. John was born Aug. 27, 1917 to Arthur and Olga (Speiser) Grassman in the Town of Lynn. He married Dorothy I. Dahlke on June 7, 1937 in the Town of Lynn. He was employed for 20 years as a licensed cheesemaker for Lynn Dairy, drove tanker truck for Northwest Oil, Marshfield, and was a 17 year employee of Weyerhaeuser of Marshfield. He was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church, Granton, and its dartball team. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of Granton; one daughter, Connie Reno, Granton; three grandchildren, John Edward Reno, Seattle, Wash., Joshua Arthur (Megan) Reno, Salida, Colo., Joy Marie Reno, Woodland Park, Colo.; one great-granddaughter, Morgan Reno; one sister, Leolene (Don) Winn, Wis. Rapids. He was precdeceased by two brothers, Rudy and Roy Grassman. Memorials may be designated to Alzheimers Research. |
