BioM: Gabriel, Emma (1925)
Surnames: GABRIEL STOIBER REEVES NACHTWEY DESSL Source: WEEKLY CLARION (Dorchester, Clark Co, WI) 06/19/1925 Gabriel, Emma (16 JUN 1925) A very pretty wedding ceremony was held at the Catholic Church at Colby Tuesday morning, June 16th, 1925, when Miss Emma Gabriel and John Stoiber Jr. were united in marriage. The bride si the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Gabriel, prominent farm folks living several miles east of Colby, and has been employed at Willmette, Ill., for the past six years. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Stoiber, old time residents of Dorchester, Clark County, Wis. country, and is a progressive and prosperous farmer. The church was very prettily decorated for the occasion in blue and white, the Sodality colors, of which the bride is a member. Miss Rose, a sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid and Miss Neva Reeves, intimate of the bride, was maid of honor. The groom was attended by Nick Gabriel, brother of the bride, as best man and also by Raymond Nachtwey, friend of the groom. Miss Marie Dessl, nice of the groom, acted as flower girl and carried a basket of snapdragons and ferns. She wore a dress of orchid crepe de chine. The bride was beautifully attired in white silk georgette crepe, overdraped with white satin and carried a shower bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley. The bridesmaid wore a dress of pale green satin canton crepe and a corsage bouquet of tea roses and sweet peas, while the maid of honor was dressed in peach colored satin faced canton crepe and also wore a corsage bouquet of tea roses and sweet peas. Following the ceremony the bridal party repaired to the home of the bride's parents where a reception was held for relatives and nearest friends. J. E. Lyons was chosen as honored guest and escorted the bridal party to church, to the reception, and in the evening to Dorchester, where a big wedding dance was given at the Esser Opera House. The newly married couple is very well and favorably known here and we join with their many friends in extending congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. John Stoiber. |
