Matanic, 89, of Wausau, formerly of Loyal died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at Harbor House in Wausau under Aspirus Hospice Care. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Matanic, 89, of Wausau, formerly of Loyal, died at Harbor House in Wausau on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Angela Irene Wegrecki was born July 19, 1915, in Chicago, the daughter of Bartholomew and Victoria (Wasik) Wegrecki. She married Milan "Mike" Matanic on Sept. 29, 1935, in Chicago. They moved to Loyal in 1946 and bought the blacksmith shop. She was a homemaker and did volunteer work in Clark County with the county nurse, including eye and hearing exams and blood drives. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and its PCCW, the Women's Club, Clark County Homemakers and the Garden Club. She is survived by her daughter, Connie (Joe) Voight of Wausau; her son, Milan "Mike" (Virginia) Matanic of Maple Plain, Minn.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Matthew (Rosalie) Wegrecki of St. Charles, Mo. : Wausau Daily Herald (Wausau, Marathon County, Wisconsin) Fri, Jan 14, 2005 Matanic, Angela I. Matanic, age 89, of Wausau, formerly of Loyal, died at Harbor House in Wausau on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005. Angela Irene Wegrecki was born July 19, 1915, in Chicago, the daughter of Bartholomew and Victoria (Wasik) Wegrecki. She was raised and educated in the Chicago area and, after completing her education, Angie held jobs at area businesses in Chicago. Angie was united in marriage to Milan "Mike" Matanic Sept. 29, 1935, in Chicago. They lived in Chicago until 1946, at which time they moved to Loyal and bought the blacksmith shop. Angie was a homemaker and did volunteer work around Clark County with the county nurse, including eye exams, hearing exams and blood drives. Her husband, Mike, died July 31, 1993. Angie moved to Wausau in 1994 to be near her daughter, Connie. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and its PCCW, the Women's Club, Clark County Homemakers and the Garden Club. Angie had many interests, but especially loved arts and crafts, square dancing and camping. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Connie (Joe) Voight of Wausau; her son, Milan "Mike" (Virginia) Matanic of Maple Plain, Minn.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Matthew (Rosalie) Wegrecki of St. Charles, Mo. Angie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; two brothers, Frank and William Wegrecki; and two sisters, Mary Janis and Betty Szymczak. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Monday until time of service at the church. Cuddie Funeral Home of Loyal is assisting the family with arrangements.
