Jean T. Weslosky was born Oct. 27, 1912, in Neillsville, the daughter of Martin and Teresa (Kruswicke) Weslosky. She was baptized Nov. 22, 1912, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, received her first communion June 27, 1927, in Neillsville. She was raised and educated in the Neillsville area, attending Rock Creek Grade School in the town of Levis of Clark County. Jean, being the youngest, helped her parents on the family farm. She was united in marriage to Emil Benas on Sept. 18, 1940, by Judge Schoengarth. Emil and she continued farming with her parents, and eventually taking ownership. They enjoyed a very good life on the farm. Emil passed away in September 1976. Jean continued living on the farm for several years, then moved to an apartment in Neillsville. She moved into the Neillsville Memorial Home on Oct. 9, 1996, and continued living there until her death.

Jean enjoyed many good times with her special family, Richard and Patricia Schleifer, along with their six children and grandchildren. She especially liked going out for rides in the country, including to the farm she had lived on. She always had a smile on her face and will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Paul, Stanley and Nicholas Weslosky; and four sisters, Gertrude, Isabelle, Marie and Viola.
