OWEN - Benhart J. Hill, 92, of Owen died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Saint Joseph's Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Curtiss. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Maurina Funeral Home in Owen and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Benhart 'Ben' Hill

Benhart "Ben" Hill, 92, of Owen died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Curtiss. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Withee. The Rev. Lauren Ley will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tom Hill, Craig Hill, Jim Hill, Del Buss, Albert Buss and Myron Buss.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2005, at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, and on

Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Ben was born Dec. 4, 1912, in Hubbell, Mich., to Walter and Ida (Kangas) Hill. Ben and Edna Rytkonen were united in marriage Sept. 23, 1944. As a young man, Ben worked on the home farm in the summer months and did mechanic work in Illinois during the winter months. He was a mechanic at Will Implement in Owen until he started his own repair shop at home in 1946, which he operated until he retired. He also farmed.

Ben was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Curtiss, and a charter member of Boomtown Chasers Snowmobile Club, Curtiss. Ben was a hunter, and for many years enjoyed fishing at their cabin on Lake Holcombe. Ben and Edna enjoyed numerous bus trips throughout the United States and Canada.

Ben will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years, Edna Hill of Owen; his sons, Gerald (Esther) Hill of Elkhart Lake and Donald (Judy) Hill of LaCrosse; one brother, Rueben (Linda) Hill of Owen; four grandchildren, Tom (Mandie) Hill, Rebecca Hill, Craig Hill and Tracie Hill; and nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Evelyn and three brothers, Carl, Armas and Everett.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home assisted the family.
