Kalsow, Emelie Albertine (18 Aug. 1853 - 22 July 1932)

Mrs. Fred Kalsow, who had nearly reached the age of 79 years, passed away at her home in the town of Weston July 22, 1932.

Emelie Albertine Klueckmann was born Aug. 18, 1853, at Heidelkavel, New Mark Brandenburg, Germany. The family came to America and settled in Jefferson county, Wis. On Jan. 30, 1873, she was married to Fred Kalsow at Farmington, in Jefferson county. In 1875 they moved to Clark County and secured land in the town of Weston which has been the family home ever since. She was one of the pioneer women who in a humble and quiet way did so much to make homes in the new country and care for their families in days when there were few comforts or conveniences.

Deceased is survived by three sons: Albert of Milwaukee; Theodore and Lebrecht of the town of Weston, and one daughter, Mrs. Fred Grap also of Weston. The funeral was held at the Globe Lutheran church July 25, Rev. Motzkus officiating.

The pallbearers were Paul Grap, Walter Grap, Wilbert Kalsow, Roland Kalsow, Hans Kalsow, and Ray Kalsow.

Those from away who attended the funeral were: Mr and Mrs. Walter Grap, Mr and Mrs. Albert Kalsow and daughter, Mrs. Wm. Mitt, Paul Grap, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Kalsow, Stevens Point; Mr and Mrs. Otto Hempel and children, Mrs. Henry Klauer, Auroraville, Wis., Aug. Rommel, Mr and Mrs. Raabe, Mrs. Geisler and daughter, Watertown.
