Myrin, Nels A. (19 JUN 1890 – 24 MAY 1955)

Nels A. Myrin, son of Andrew and Anna (Stigen) Myrin, was born June 19, 1890, in the Town of Reseburg, Clark County. He received his education and resided there until 7 years ago when he moved to a farm in the Town of Warner. He was a member of Cecil Tormey Post No 118 of the American Legion of Thorp, having served overseas during World War 1.

Mr. Myrin passed away Tuesday, May 24,1955, at the Marshfield hospital where he had been a patient since May 21, after suffering a heart attack. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Hubert (Anna) Horn and Mrs. Theodore (Emma) Braun, both of Greenwood; two brothers Charles of Withee, and Melvin of Ironwood, Mich.; three nieces and three nephews.

Military services were conducted by American Legions of Greenwood and Thorp at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 27th at the Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed church, with the Rev. Charles Koch officiating. Interment took place at Riverside cemetery, Withee.

Pallbearers were Otto Meinholdt, Art Anderson, Harry Baehr, Art Horn, Frank Stigen and William Alperstett.

During the services the choir, accompanied by Mrs. Alvin Albert at the organ sang,"Rock of Ages," and "Abide With Me."

Funeral arrangements were in charge of Hill Funeral Parlors of Greenwood.

Those from away who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Myrin, Ironwood, Mich; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Myrin, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stigen, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Baehr, Mr. and Mrs. George Baehr, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Deoge, Art Anderson, Fred Widmer, Gottlif Isler and son, Withee: Mr. and Mrs. Elias Ott, Stanley; Duane Horn and June Braun, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Allan Braun, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Mattes, Mr. and Mrs. John Barth, Eric Amendt, Thorp; and a host of other friends from Thorp, Withee and Greenwood.
