Obit: Marg, Francis K. (1909 - 2004)
Source: Clark County Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) FRANCIS K MARG Francis K Marg, age 95, recently living with her sister, Anna Fae Heck, in Neillsville, died Nov. 6, 2004, at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital and Home where she had resided for a couple weeks. Francis was born March 8, 1909 in Greeley, IA, the daughter of Fred and Mary Barr. The family moved to Ryegate, MT where Francis attended the Pine Island School, and then to Greenwood. Francis went to Iowa to live with her aunt and uncle and graduated from high school there. She then returned home and attended teachers college in Eau Claire. She taught grade school in Fairchild for four years before marrying Paul Marg. She continued teaching for a few years, but gave it up to help on their farm and business in Mondovi. They later moved to Eau Claire. She enjoyed traveling and visited many foreign countries. Francis had many friends in Eau Claire and never missed a Sunday at the Calvary Baptist Church in Eau Claire. She wrote many beautiful poems and spoke at many places. A book of her poems has been published. She has been honored for her poems and voice in Eau Claire and Minneapolis. Surviving Francis is one sister, Anna Fae Heck; one brother, Jacob Barr; and her sister-in-law Berniece (Fred’s wife). Preceding Francis in death was her husband, Paul; brothers Fred, David and Tom Barr; sister, Edna Paulson; and sisters-in-law, Ruth and Esther Barr. Funeral services for Francis will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov 11, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1815 Golf Avenue, Eau Claire, WI. |
