Obit: O'Leary, Peter #2 (1872 - 1949)
OLEARY- Peter O'Leary Funeral services for Peter O'Leary who passed away at his home in this village Wednesday evening, Jan. 5, at the age of 76 yeas, 7 months and nineteen days, were held at the Methodist church Saturday aftenoon, the Rev. Arthur L. Gausmann officiating. Mrs. W.E. Waters and Mrs. Walter Smith, with Mrs. H.L. Losey, accompanist, sang "Jesus Lover of My Soul" and "Beyond the Sunset". Flower ladies were Mrs. Virgil Jinkerson and Mrs. Geo. Hunter. Pallbearers were Wesley Walker, Chester Bailey, John Sheffer, John Fitzmaurice, Fred Rupnow and Joseph Trader. Interment was in Mentor cemetery. Peter O'Leary was born May 16, 1872, in Kickapoo Valley, Monroe County, where he grew to young manhood. On Dec. 24, 1901, he was united in marriage with Emma Putman of Humbird. They made their home on a farm east of Humbird until ill health caused him to retire. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma O'Leary, and three children: Russel, residing on the home farm; Velva, Mrs. Earl DeLong, and Viola, Mrs. Jake Fitzmaurice, all of Humbird. Two sisters, Mrs. John Saunders, Cataract, and Mrs. Mary McDowell, Alberta, Canada; a step-sister, Mrs. John Sheffer, Humbird; and a step-brother, Ora Hall, La Crosse. There are twelve grandchildren. Those attending the services from away were: Mr. and Mrs. John Saunders and son Charles, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Konme, Cateract; Ivan and Irvin Putman, Janesville; Mr. and Mrs. Glyen Bohl, Reedsburg; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Van Kirk, Ross Van Kirk, Mr. and Mrs. Len Howard, Sparta; Mrs. Clara Putman and Mrs. Glen McSchooler, Omro; Mrs. George Hunter, Pickett; Mr. and Mrs. Forest Jensen, Green Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ebergen and Mrs. Clara O'Leary, Marshfield; Michael O'Leary, James Redmon, Earl Pierce, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Markham, Roy Eddie, Mr. and Mrs. Lou House, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Fitzmaurice, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Duerkop and sons, Mr. and Mrs. George Michels, Alma Center; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Eddy, Arthur and Hugh Eddy, of Black River Falls; Faura(Tauno) Ranta and Ronald DeLong, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Fitzmaurice, Mr. and Mrs. Al Raymond, Fairchild; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Fradenburg, Willard. Card of Thanks: We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to every one who helped us in the time of our sorrow, the passing of our husband and father, Peter O'Leary.
