Obit: Kock, Mrs. Ferdinand (1865 - 1926)
Surnames: KOCK HAUFE HAZLETT DESOTA Source: WEEKLY CLARION (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI) 08/13/1926 Kock, Mrs. Ferdinand (26 FEB 1865 - 5 AUG 1926) Mrs. Ferdinand Kock died at her home 1/2 mile south of Stetsonville, Thursday, Aug. 5th, 1926, of cancer, after an illness of between 6 and 7 years. The funeral services were conducted at the home Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock and at the Evangelical Church at Medford at 2, Rev. J. Bizer officiating, and she was laid at rest in the Evergreen Cemetery at Medford. Mrs. Kock was born in Saxony, Germany, Feb. 26, 1865 and was 61 years, 5 months and 9 days old at time of death. She was united in marriage to Ferd. Kock on June 14, 1886 and in 1887 they immigrated to the United States, landing at West Hoboken, N.Y., and immediately came to Stetsonville where they lived on a farm three miles west of town and later purchased the farm they now own. Nine children were born to them, four sons and five daughters, all of whom, with the father, survive her. Eight of the children are married and one son, Paul, lives at home while one son, Otto, lives at Stetsonville and one daughter, Mrs. Max Haufe, lives in the town of Holton. Besides there Mrs. B. C. Hazlett of Livingston, Mont., Wm. Kock of Monroe, Mich. and Mr. and Mrs. Martin DeSota of Milwaukee, were here for the funeral. The other children were prevented by illness and other circumstances from coming, but they had been to see their mother shortly before death claimed her. Mrs. Kock was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and a worker in the Ladies Aid and as such will be much missed by all who knew her and loved here, but most will she be missed by those who knew her best and loved her most. May they be comforted by the thought that she has gone on to the land that is Fairer than Day and they shall meet again never more to part when their work is done here. The Clarion and their many friends offer sincere sympathy to the mourning friends in this hour of sorrow. |
