Doessl, Catherine (25 NOV 1853 – 24 MAY 1927)

Mrs. Catherine Doessl died Tuesday, May 24th, 1927, at 8 a.m. of old age at the home of her son, Joe, 2 miles northwest of the city (Dorchester, Clark County, Wis.) and the funeral was this morning at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Rev. Pitzenberger officiating, with the interment at the cemetery south of town, Joseph Kronschnabl, John Schmitt, Joe and Frank Geiger, Theo. Decker, and Wm. Schumacher acting as pallbearers.

Catherine Doessl was born in German, Nov. 25, 1853. About fifty years ago she was married to Joseph Doessl at Buchanan, Calumet Co., where she resided until about 12 years ago when she came here to make her home with Joe.

Five children were born tot he Doessl’s, three of whom are left to mourn her loss, her son, Joe, and two daughters, Mrs. Theresa Heindl and Mrs. Catherine Suennen, of Athens. Beside these she leaves 13 grandchildren, 1 half brother and 2 half sisters.

The mother’s hands are folded and the voice is stilled, but her kind and loving deeds will live on in the lives of those who loved her. She loved her church and was a faithful member of the Christian Mother Solidity and will surely be missed by all, but her pleasant friendliness will be remembered by those who knew her and neighbored with her.

The Clarion joins the many friends in offering sympathy to the sorrowing ones.
