Surnames: HOFMANN SCHOFF Source: WEEKLY CLARION (Dorchester, Clark Co, WI) 07/02/1926 Hofmann, Martha (25 JUN 1926) Miss Martha Hofmann, the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moritz Hofmann, was united in marriage to Mr. Edward Schoff of Milwaukee, on the lawn of the bride’s home, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, June 25th, Rev. Bizer of Medford officiating. The bride was dressed in a daintily beaded, lace trimmed white satin dress with a train. Her veil was the usual tan shape, so popular this season, and she carried a beautiful shower bouquet of pink roses, white carnations and ferns with streamers. Elsie Hofmann, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid and wore an orchid crepe dress and carried a bouquet of roses and ferns. Elmer Schoff, brother of the groom, acted as best man. The gentlemen were dressed in the conventional blue. After the ceremony the bridal party motored to Medford and had their pictures taken at the Dake Studio, then back to the bride’s home where a reception was held for immediate relatives only. Mr. Schoff’s parents and his brothers and sisters and families, all of Milwaukee, were here. Besides them were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hofmann and family, Reinhold Hofmann and family and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meyer and family. In the vening Charlie and Henry Berg and families of Lake City, Minn., aunts and uncles of the bride, motored up and surprised them all, and a bunch from Rib Lake did the same thing. So they all had a dandy time together, dancing in the granary. Martha needs no introduction to many of the Clarion readers as she was born and raised here and though she has been employed in Milwaukee for 5 years she has always spent her vacations here. Mr. Schoff is from Milwaukee, so is not known here, but wee’d trust Martha to pick a winner every time. They will make their future home in Milwaukee, and they departed for there Monday, with heaps of joy and good wishes of their friends ringing in their ears. The Clarion also tenders best wishes for long life and prosperity. The other guests also left for Milwaukee Monday. |
