Kelly, Patrick (12 April 1866 - 4 April 1933)

Patrick Kelly, one of Pine Valley’s best known residents, died suddenly about 1 p.m. Tuesday while in the Bollum Meat Market on West Seventh Street. Mrs. Kelly, who was taken last Friday to General hospital at Madison, will be brought back by auto Wednesday by Ernest Dixon. Funeral arrangements will not be made until Mrs. Kelly’s return. A complete obituary will be published next week.

Patrick Kelly, well known farmer of North Pine Valley, died suddenly April 4, 1933. Although he had not been in good health for several years, his death when it came was quite unexpected.

Mr. Kelly was born near Stratford, Ontario, Canada, April 12, 1866 and had nearly reached the age of 67 years at his death.

When a young man over forty years ago, he came to Clark County. For several years he worked in lumber camps and on the river and on farms. In may, 1899, he was married to Miss Augusta Pearson, who died March 31, 1900, leaving an infant daughter.

In November, 1907, Mr. Kelly was married to Mrs. Mary Goeden, who survives him. Besides his widow, he leaves his daughter, Marian, Mrs. R. E. Dowling, of Lakshurst, N. J. ; five brothers, Thomas of Neillsville, John, Michael and William of Ontario and Joseph in Spokane; also one sister, Ann Kelly, in Ontario.

After his first marriage, Mr. Kelly was engaged for some time in the dairy business, furnishing practically the entire home milk supply in the city of Neillsville. Later he engaged in farming on his farm in North Pine Valley. He was a horseman of marked ability, but also at the Agricultural College in Madison for his man of upright principles and in all his activities made many warm friends.

The funeral was held Friday morning at St. Mary’s church, Father Weber officiating.
