Beilke, Pearl Helen (Marriage - 12 May 1933)

The church of the Transfiguration at Ironwood, Mich., was the scene of a pretty wedding ceremony at 7:30 p.m. May 12 when Miss Pearl Helen Beilke, daughter of Mrs. D. O. Chapman, 157 North Hewett Street, this city, became the bride of Lewis Bradbury, Clark County Clerk of Court and son of Dr. and Mrs. E. L. Brandbury. The Episcopalian single ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Gilbert G. Curtiss before a taper lighted altar.

The bride, a graduate of the Neillsville high school in 1928, is one of Neillsville’s most popular young women, of fine character and refinement and possessed of a keen intelligence. For the past year she has been employed as a clerk at the Picus Style Shoppe, previously being employed in clerical positions in the register of deeds office and the office of county treasurer.

Mr. Bradbury was graduated from the Neillsville high school in 1924, attended Ripon College in 1924026 and the University of Arizona in 1927-28. At the election last fall he was elected clerk of court. Mr. Bradbury is a young man of upright character and genial personality, making friends readily and holding their respect. Both Mr. Bradbury and his bride were reared in this community and enjoy the warm friendship of an exceptionally large circle of fellow townspeople.

The maid of honor was Mrs. A. H. Buell, aunt of the bride, and Mr. Buell was best man. The bride was beautifully attired in a costume of Eleanor blue, triple sheer crepe with accessories in gray and a corsage of roses, sweet peas and daffodils. The bridesmaid wore a pretty gray suit with accessories to match, a corsage of roses, sweet peas and baby breath.

A reception and dinner were held at the home of Mr and Mrs. Oliver Rowe, attended by eight guests.

Mr and Mrs. Bradbury returned Sunday. After June 1 they will be at home at 1726 East Fifth Street. Mrs. Bradbury expects to help out at the Picus shoppe until June 1.
