Masiewicz, Edward (21 May 1922 - 19 April 2004)

COLBY - Edward J. Masiewicz, 81, Colby, died April 19, 2004, at Colonial Center, Colby.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. today at First United Church of Christ. Burial was in Colby Memorial Cemetery. Military Rites were conducted by Stetsonville American Legion Post 519.

Visitation was from 9:30 a.m. until service time today at the church. A Masonic service was at 10 a.m., conducted by Owen Masonic Lodge 317, at the church.

Maurina Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Edward was born May 21, 1922, to Casmir and Mary (Nitka) Masiewicz. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942 to 1945. He received the Presidential Unit Citation 4th Marine Division. Edward and Gertrude Dehne were married February 25, 1954, in Colby. She died October 12, 2003. The couple started Mid State TV Sales and Service and operated it until 1965. Later they moved to Ashland, where he became service manager for Garnisch Company, a distributor of Admiral TVs and appliances, then they moved to Green Bay, where he worked in sales for Admiral. He moved to New Berlin, where he was a chemical salesman for potato farmers. He retired to Withee, Medford and then entered the nursing home in Colby.

Edward is survived by his sister, Sophie Hammel, of Terrell, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.
