Surnames: Dopp, Samuelson, White, Wilkins -----Source: CLARK COUNTY PRESS (Neillsville, Clark Co., WI) 03/23/2005 -----CAROL F DOPP (25 DEC 1933 – 15 FEB 2005) Carol Dopp, age 71, of Neillsville, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, at the Memorial Nursing Home in Neillsville. Carol Frances Dopp was born on Dec. 25, 1933, in Platteville, the daughter of Dewey and Mabel (Samuelson) White. She graduated from school in Platteville and then attended the Wisconsin State University-Platteville, where she graduated with a degree in teaching. She was united in marriage to Arvid Dale Dopp on Dec. 17, 1955 in Platteville. Carol went on to teach at Mineral Point, Holman and in the 1960’s she and Arvid moved to Neillsville, where she taught for 23 years before retiring in 1989. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and their Ladies Aid. In her free time, Carol enjoyed skiing, played many rounds of golf and many hands of bridge. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Retired Teachers Association. Surviving is her husband, Arvid; one son, Mark (Sherry) Dopp, of McLean, VA; a granddaughter, Kerrigan Dopp of McLean, VA; one sister, Lois (Curt) Wilkins, of Bowling Green, KY; and three brothers, John (Eileen) White, of Waukesha; Fred (Margaret) White, of Pleasant Prairie; and Don (Janet) White, of Madison. Preceding Carol in death is one son, Scott and her parents. A Memorial Service for Carol was held Saturday, Feb. 19, at the United Methodist Church in Neillsville. Pastor Mary Anne Conklin officiated. Music was provided by Eileen Zank, organist. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1131, Fairfax, VA 222038-1131. The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville assisted the family with arrangements. |
