--------- Teicht, Elizabeth (6 MAY 1901)

Last Monday morning at 9, at the Catholic Parsonage in Athens, Miss Elizabeth Teicht was united in marriage to Mr. Herbert Barton, both of the town of Johnson. After the ceremonies, which were performed by Rev. Mechlenkamp, high mass was held at 10 o’clock in the church, in honor of the marriage. The bridal party then proceeded to the home of Mr. Wm. Bube, a brother-in-law of the bride, where the guests were assembled to welcome them and the wedding festivities commenced, to end only in the wee small hours of the morning. It is estimated that about 125 guests were present.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Barton, who are well known in this vicinity (Dorchester, Clark Co., Wis.). Herbert was dressed in a black dress suit of broadcloth that fitted his fine figure to perfection.

The bride, who is a daughter of Thomas Teicht, who is one of the old settlers of this region, was dressed in dotted white mull, trimmed with rich lace and insertion of the same color, and decorated with myrtle. The wedding veil was of some fine material of the same color, plaited at the top and hung in graceful folds to the floor.

They received a very large number of elegant presents which will be of great value to them in the future.

They are to live on the farm formerly owned by Mr. Barton, but now owned by Herbert. The Reporter joins with their hosts of friends and wish them a very happy and prosperous journey down the matrimonial sea.
