Fri, 1 April 2005 Lemke, Harold C. (14 May 1923 – 31 March 2005) Harold C. Lemke, 81, of Marshfield, formerly of Loyal, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at his home. Arrangements are pending with Cuddie Funeral Home of Loyal. ----------- Source: Marshfield News Herald (Marshfield, Wood County, Wis.) Sat, Apr 2, 2005 Harold C. Lemke LOYAL - Harold C. Lemke, 81, of Marshfield died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at his home. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2005, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. The Rev. Daniel Zimmerman will officiate and burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield. Pallbearers will be Ken Voss, Ken Schmidt, Roger Kadolph, Scott Elmhorst, Wayne Vaughan and Gary Rasmussen. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at Cuddie Funeral Home in Loyal and from 10:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Harold Charles Lemke was born May 14, 1923, in the town of Sherman, Clark County, the son of Henry and Martha (Konshok) Lemke. He was raised on the family farm and received his education at Catlin School. Harold was united in marriage to Vera H. Elmhorst on March 23, 1946, at Zion Lutheran parsonage in Granton. He bought his father's farm near Loyal and farmed for 33 years, retiring in 1979. He sold the farm in 1979 and moved to Marshfield, where Harold worked for the city of Marshfield during the summer for several years. He also worked at Figi's. Harold started working at V&H Automotive on March 8, 1988, and worked there until Dec. 30, 2004. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed word find puzzles, attending local stock car races and NASCAR. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Vera of Marshfield; two daughters, Sandra Pratz and her companion, Robert Nesvick of Anchorage, Alaska, Barbara (George) Richards of Houston; two sons, Thomas (Susan) Lemke of Kasson, Minn., and Kenneth (Barbara) Lemke of Marshfield; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Norman Lemke, on Oct. 5, 1972. |
