Elmhorst, Henry Paul Carl (16 Sept. 1910 – 10 April 2005)

Henry Elmhorst, 94, of Neillsville died April 10, 2005, at the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Interment will be in Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gesche Funeral Home.

Henry Paul Carl Elmhorst was born on Sept. 16, 1910, in Rolfe, Iowa, the son of Henry and Martha (Desens) Elmhorst. After a year, they moved to Union Hill, Ill., and in 1920 they moved to Granton. He married Dorothy Alice Daniels on July 17, 1932. They farmed in various areas around Neillsville, Granton and Chili. In November of 1945 they moved to their farm on Owen Avenue and had been there ever since. Dorothy died on June 14, 1980.

He is survived by 11 children, Eldred Elmhorst of Marshfield, Henry (Joan) Elmhorst of Rudolph, Roy (Sue) Elmhorst of Iola, William (Virginia) Elmhorst of Neillsville, Daniel (Joel) Elmhorst of Neillsville, Rosemary (Ronald) McBride of Granton, Michael (Evangeline) Elmhorst of Paynsesville, Minn., Andrew (Linda) Elmhorst of Wisconsin Rapids, Judith Hineline of Neillsville, Paul Elmhorst of Whitehall and James Elmhorst of Neillsville. Henry is also survived by 58 grandchildren; 102 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn Montgomery of Boulder, Colo., Vera Lemke of Marshfield and Laura Mae (Vernon) Wegner of Edina, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.
