--------- Kaage, Irene (16 JUN 1928)

An interesting wedding of two of our popular and well known young people took place when Miss Irene Kaage, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kaage, became the bride of Mr. Otto W. Kalepp Jr., Saturday afternoon, June 16th, 1928, at 2 o’clock, at the Evangelical Lutheran St. Peter Church, Rev. Weubben of Abbotsford officiating.

The bride was attended by Miss Tillie and Elsie Kalepp, sisters of the groom, while the groom’s attendants were August Machmiller of Birnamwood, and Gayhart Graffunder, both friends of the young couple.

The bride was gowned in white flat crepe, trimmed with silk lace, wore a veil and white hose and slippers and carried a corsage bouquet of pink roses, lilies of the valley and ferns. The bridesmaids wore dresses of yellow and pink georgette and wore roses and ferns.

The groom wore a navy blue suit while his attendants wore suits of medium gray.

After the service the bridal party motored to Medford and had pictures taken. They returned to the bride’s home where a bounteous dinner was served from five to nine o’clock to about two hundred relatives, friends and neighbors. At nine they all went to Jerkwater where a dance was given for which Joe Hrunick and Nelson furnished the music that made everyone enjoy themselves and dance till way in the morning.

Neither Irene nor Otto need any introduction to our readers as they were both born and grew up here. We join with the many friends in wishing them a smooth road and many joys through life.

Mr. and Mrs. Kalepp will make their home on the groom’s farm east of Dorchester.
