Julius Emil Gloff was born in the Province of Posen, Germany on the 9th day of October, 1851. In early infancy he was baptized and then later instructed in the Doctrines of the Christian religion and confirmed at the age of 14 years. On the 4th day of Feb. 1872 he entered into the Holy Estate of Matrimony with Augusta nee Friske. This union was blessed with 11 children of which 4 children preceded the deceased to eternity. In 1881 they left their native land came to the U.S.A., settling in Waushara County; here they remained for 15 years and then moved to Neillsville, Clark County, where they lived until 1913 and then purchased a farm near Greenwood where they lived for 5 years, and then moved to the Village of Loyal where he came to retire. In 1915 the deceased joined the local Ev. Luth. Trinity Congregation. For a number of months the deceased had been ill, remaining at home most of the time, suffering from old age and dropsy. He seemed to sense that his end was drawing nigh and made preparation for the same. On Monday, March 17, he yet partook of Holy Communion. On Tuesday morning he went into a state of coma and remained in that until Sunday evening, March 23, at 13 minutes of 6:00 when he was quietly called from this world of suffering to a better World as we have all reason to believe, thus making his age 78 years, 5 months and 11 days. The deceased now leaves to mourn hid departure, his sorrowing wife, 4 sons and three daughters, namely: August Gloff, of Detroit, Michigan; Ed. Gloff, of Wilmore, Kentucky; Frank Gloff, of Little Valley, New York; Arthur Gloff of Marshfield, Wis., Mrs. Amelia Schuelke, of Marshfield, Wis., Mrs. Bertha Meier of Chicago, Illinois and Mrs. Ella Pagelsdorf of Beloit, Wis. Also 24 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, besides numerous relatives and a host of friends who have our hearts sympathy in their bereavement.

Funeral services were held here last Thursday, the Rev. H. F. Leschensky officiating. Burial took place in Hillside cemetery, Marshfield. Pall bearers were Elmer Shupe, Gust Voight, Chas. Brussow, H. F. Kelmberg, Wm. Loppnow and Aug. Witt.

Relatives from away included Mr. and Mrs. Schuelke and family, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gloff and family, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Witt and son all of Marshfield; August Gloff, Detroit, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meier, Chicago; Mrs. Ella Pagelsdorf and daughter Beatrice, Beloit; Mrs. A. C. Krueger, Iron Mountain, Mich., and the Rev. and Mrs. William Schmidtke, Hampshire, Ill.
