GREENWOOD HOME RAZED BY FLAMES

Radio Set is Only Thing Saved From Fire Early This Morning

Greenwood--All that remained to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Marden today of their home and its furnishings was a radio receiving set. Fire destroyed the small frame residence and the remainder of its contents at about 9 o'clock this morning.

Mr. and Mrs. Marden had gone to the home of the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Marden, and were about to start on a trip to Neillsville when they heard the city fire siren and learned that their home was in flames.

The Narden home was situated about three blocks east of the city's main thoroughfare. The blaze was discovered by Mrs. May Severson, a neighbor, who turned in the alarm.

Although firemen responded quickly, the flames were already beyond any hope of control. One of the volunteers broke a window and brought out the radio set.

No accurate estimate of the loss was available but it was learned that the house was insured to the extent of $1,000.
