News: West Levis (18 Jan. 1934)
Source: Neillsville Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 18 Jan. 1934 West Levis (Gladys Beeckler) Herman Embke drove to Stevens Point Sunday. Mrs. Floyd Hagie called on Mrs. H. Anderson Friday. Mrs. Legare Apfel spent Tuesday eve at Guy Schultz’s. Carl Opelt and family spent Sunday at the Ray Sternitzky home in Lynn. Lindsey Murphy is confined to his bed suffering from a broken rib and pleurisy. Mrs. H. Anderson was in B. R. Falls Monday to see the doctor. Max Opelt and family spent Sunday at O. Crockett’s. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hagie had Sunday dinner with the Geo. Streubing family. Robert Reggs called at M. Opelt Jr’s Monday. Mrs. John McKivitt returned from Chicago Sunday night. Guy Schultz and wife visited at Harry Anderson Wednesday eve. Mr. and Mrs. R. Lynch received a telegram Saturday evening saying their son Merton who is in a sanitarium in New York was very low. Walter Lynch and Mrs. Leda Powell Lynch left the same night. Mr. and Mrs. Robert French were Neillsville callers Wednesday. Wallace Short visited R. Lynch on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. L. McKivittt and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Handke visited at G. Schulz’s Sunday. The neighbors attended a shower on Mrs. Walter Lynch Friday p.m. She and baby were both doing nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Beeckler and Mrs. R. French called at R. Lynch’s Sunday. Edward Murphy who is in the CCC Camp at Hatfield visited his parents Sunday. Mrs. Philip Schultz is improving rapidly after her operation. Mrs. Geo. Beeckler was surprised by a group of friends Saturday, it being her birthday. Everyone enjoyed the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Legar Apfel spent Saturday Eve at Guy Schultz’s. H. Embke called at R. French’s on Saturday evening. Irv Ayers and Esther Green called at H. Anderson’s Sunday. Mrs. Geo. Bryan Sr. spent Tuesday with her daughter Mrs. W. Lynch.
