BioM: Vandeberg, Minnie (1934)
Surname: Vandeberg, Eide, Longenecker, Donahue, Paulson, Hill Source: Neillsville Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 1 March 1934 Vandeberg, Minnie (Marriage – 22 Feb. 1934) On Thursday evening at 8 o’clock Feb. 22, at a pretty home wedding, Mr. Marvin A. Eide and Miss Minnie Vandeberg were united in marriage in the Eide apartments over the Sweet Shop, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating. The bride and groom were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Donahue, the latter being a sister of the groom. Mr. Owen Paulson of Madison, at the piano played Mendelssohn’s Wedding March, and sang also “I Love You Truly.” The bride wore a dress of green wool-silk, and carried a bouquet of sweet peas. After the ceremony a wedding lunch was served. Later a dancing party was given to guests in the Sweet Shop, which was attended by a number of friends and relatives. Those from out of town attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Al Vandeberg and daughter Myrlin, and Chris Vandeberg, all of Prescott, Wis., and Halvor Eide of Granton. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Eide. He graduated from Granton High School in 1924, and came to Neillsville with his parents six years ago when they bought the Sweet Shop. He has assisted in the business since that time except a few months when he was engaged on highway construction. The bride is the daughter of William Vandeberg, and grew to womanhood here. During her high school course she helped with the work at the Sweet Shop, graduating in 1928, and remaining there to assist when Mr. and Mrs. Eide took over the business. In all she has been employed there for ten years. In her contact with the public and the people of Neillsville generally, she has made many friends by her fine courtesy and lady like manner. The bride and groom will begin housekeeping soon at the Eide homestead, Rose Hill Farm, in the town of Fremont, which they will carry on. With this fine couple will go many good wishes and abundant hopes for their future happiness.
