Heidemann, Dorothy L. (15 March 1916 – 4 April 2004)

Dorothy L. Heidemann, 88, died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center. Dorothy was born on March 15, 1916, in Thorp, Wis. Her parents were Frank H. Schmidt and Alma (Fischer) Schmidt. She graduated from Thorp High School in 1933.

On April 2, 1934, she married Elmer F. Heidemann in Milwaukee. Elmer preceded Dorothy in death Aug. 6, 1961.

Dorothy was a 30-year member of the St. Mary's Kitchen Committee. She was a longtime member of Catholic Charities, Rehab Parent Group and A.R.C. She worked as a farmer, mail person and school bus driver.

She will be remembered most of all as loving and caring Mother.

Dorothy raised eight children: Emmet F. (Corinne) Heidemann, Richard (Julie) Heidemann, James Raymond Heidemann, Mary (Richard) Schneider, John P. (Karen) Heidemann, Joseph V. Heidemann, Michael R. (Celeste) Heidemann and Donna T. (Michael) Stieghorst.

The Heidemann grandchildren include Emmet Jr. (Leslie), Steven Heidemann of Anchorage, Alaska, Don (Terrie) and David Heidemann of Houston, Texas, Diane Melvin of Valparaiso, Fla., Wendy (Ron) Kresha of Little Falls, Minn., Bill (Heather) Schneider of Delano, Minn., Peter Schneider of Minneapolis, Minn., and Matt Schneider of Winona, Minn., Kristen Heidemann, Timothy (Luana) Heidemann, Ericka Heidemann of Sheboygan Falls, Michael and Adam Heidemann of McHenry, Ill., Sarah (Erik) Nolte of Hartford, Rachel Heidemann of Thiensville, Aaron Heidemann of Sheboygan, Daniel (Miriam) Schumacher of Waukesha, Tom (Elizabeth) Schumacher of Kohler, Anne (Cory) Mayer of Plymouth, and Mark Schumacher of Kohler. Great-grandchildren include Joshua Heidemann, Trinity, Kiel, Nathan Melvin, Alexander, Amelia, Adrienne Kresha, Layne, Rachel and Mara Heidemann, Therese Schumacher, Jackson Schrameyer, Finley and McKenna Schumacher. In addition to her husband Elmer, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Schmidt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Monday, April 12 at Blessed Trinity Parish, with the Rev. Eugene Neuman, presiding. Burial will take place in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may greet the family at the church on Monday from 3 p.m. until the time of the Mass. Memorials may be made to Sheboygan Rehabilitation Center and Blessed Trinity Parish.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center.

The staff of the Wenig Funeral Home of Sheboygan Falls is serving the family.
