Obit: Kuechenmiester, Oscar #2 (1860 - 1934)
Surname: Kuechenmiester, Kauffmann, Krahnke, Bauman, Blum Source: Neillsville Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 18 Oct. 1934 Kuechenmiester, Oscar (14 June 1860 – 12 Oct. 1934) Oscar Kuechenmiester one of the oldest settlers of the town of Grant, passed away at Neillsville hospital, Oct. 12, aged 74 years, 3 months and 28 days. Mr. Kuechenmiester met with an accident on September 25, getting his arm caught in a silo filler, which made amputation necessary. He had previously had high blood pressure which complicated his difficulties and while he apparently rallied from the shock of the accident, his other condition grew worse resulting in his death. Oscar Kuechenmiester was born at Farmington, Washington County, Wis., June 14, 1860. When he was 7 years old the parents and children moved to the town of Grant in this county and there he grew to manhood. He attended the country school and as he grew older was employed in lumber camps. On Oct. 25, 1884, he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Kauffmann of Plymouth, Wis., and they started a life on land in the town of Grant. Mr. Kuechenmiester, was industrious and thrifty and developed a good farm home. He was a man of excellent character and a good citizen in every way. Deceased is survived by his wife and one son Edgar, at home on the farm. One daughter Anna, Mrs. Chas. Krahnke died two years ago. He leaves also 6 grandchildren, and one brother, C. H. Kuechenmiester of Neillsville. The funeral was held Monday at the Lowe Funeral Home, Rev. Wm. Bauman officiating. Mrs. Bauman and Paul Blum sang a duet, “Jesus Saviour Pilot Me.”
