(27 Jan. 1915 – 31 May 2005) OWEN -Virginia A. (Berg) Barager, 90, of Owen died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at the home of her daughter in Madison. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2005, at St. Katherine's Episcopal Church in Owen. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Maurina Funeral Home in Owen. Source: Marshfield News Herald (Marshfield, Wood County, Wis.) Fri, Jun 3, 2005 Virginia A. Barager OWEN -Virginia A. (Berg) Barager, 90, of Owen died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at the home of her daughter in Madison. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2005, at St. Katherine's Episcopal Church in Owen. The Rev. Guy Usher will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Barager, Jake Barager, Luke Barager, Mike Barager, Denis Tweedale and Bruce Calkins. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Maurina Funeral Home in Owen. There will be an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Virginia was born Jan. 27, 1915, in Melrose to August and Emma (Wyler) Berg. After graduating from Eau Claire Teachers College in 1935, she taught elementary education in Humbird, Waupun and Owen. Virginia and James Barager were married in 1944. He died on June 27, 1976. She worked part time with her husband, Jim, and after his death was the publisher/editor of the Owen Enterprise from 1976 to 1989. She enjoyed being with family and friends at their cottage on Round Lake and always was ready to play canasta and dominoes. Virginia was a member of St. Katherine's Episcopal Church, where she served many years on the Altar Guild. Virginia is survived by her children, Jean Barager of Green Bay, Jim (Teena) Barager of Colorado Springs, Colo., Barb (Dennis) Tweedale of Madison and Jack Barager of Wauwatosa; eight grandchildren, Rob Barager of Little Rock, Ark., Jill Lucas of Colorado Springs, Jackie Stolze of Austin, Texas, Kari and Brooke Tweedale of Madison, Jake, Luke and Mike Barager of Wauwatosa; and four great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jordan Barager of Little Rock, Ark., and Kayla and Kari Lucas of Colorado Springs. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; a brother, Wentworth Berg; and two sisters, Evangeline Russell and Evanell Vernon.
