Beaver, Katherine (20 JAN 1903 – 5 OCT 1931)

Mrs. Peter Beaver (nee Katherine Hoffenbredl) was born at Auburndale, Wis., January 30, 1903 and died at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield, Wis., of infection and sceptis pneumonia on Monday morning Oct. 5, 1931 after an illness of only two weeks, at the age of 28 years, 9 months and 5 days.

She attended both public and Catholic schools in Auburndale, after which she was employed for one year at the Boyer Hotel at Junction City and three years at the University Club in Madison, spending some of her summer months at keeping house for her brother, Mike at Loyal, Wis.

On Oct. 20, 1925 she was united in marriage to Peter Beaver of Loyal, Wis. The marriage took place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Auburndale, the service being conducted by the Rev. Joseph Steinhauser.

Immediately after their marriage they moved onto a farm north of Loyal in the town of Beaver which her husband had purchased, and by their hard labor they have succeeded thus far in establishing a livable home.

She had been indeed a kind and loving wife and mother, always willing in the righteousness of life, a smile for everyone, a true follower of the Catholic Church and cheering for her model and protection, the Blessed Virgin and after suffering so patiently and only a few minutes after receiving the last rights of the Catholic Church, she closed her eyes to this Valley of Tears and entered Eternity with a smile.

She leaves to mourn her untimely death her husband, two daughters and one son namely: Eulalia Jane, 5; Rosalia Mary, 3; and Verland Peter, 2 weeks. Also her parents Mr. and Mrs. Benedict Hoffenbredl of Auburndale, one aged grandfather, 4 brothers Henry, Frank and Leo of Auburndale, and Mike of Loyal, and three sisters Clara and Agnes of Auburndale and Elizabeth who is employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield, and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at St. Balthasar’s Church Wednesday morning, the Rev. A. J. Aurit officiating. The body was then taken to Auburndale for burial, and the Rev. Joseph Steinhauser performed the rites at the cemetery.

The pall bearers were William, Frank, Edward, Phillip, Bernard and Matthew Beaver. The flower girls were Cathryn Beaver, Gertrude Beaver, Loraine Beaver and Verona Swieso.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Mrs. Mike Duvall of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Beaver of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Louie Krause of Roseville; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Krause and family of Roseville; Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Koller and family of Auburndale; Mrs. Geo. Berdan of Auburndale; Mr. Henry Ashbeck of Auburndale; Mrs. Paul Hoffenbredl and family, Auburndale; Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Hoffenbredl and family, Mr. and Mrs. Benedict Hoffenbredl, Jr and family, Mr. Benedict, Sr, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Greiner and family all of Auburndale, and Mrs. Ignatz Ashenbrener and family of Miladore.

The little children have been taken to Auburndale where they will make their home with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Benedict Hoffenbredl and family.
