Mrs. Fred Molle, a long-time resident on the farm she and her husband established in the Unity area when they were married, celebrated her 89th birthday with family members Saturday afternoon at the Memorial Home in Neillsville, where she had resided since March 3.

Mrs. Molle was 89 years old on Friday, March 20. Saturday afternoon was spent in social reminiscing and there was a large decorated birthday cake with 89 candles.

Present were her two sons, Ernest, who operates the family farm at Unity, and Albert, who resides in Medford, and their wives, along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren – Linda Molle, Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Rachu and Gary, Dale, Donna and Gwen, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Kauth and Leslie, Joey, Steven, Penny and Tommy, Greenwood; and Mr. and Mrs. Melford Molle with their family of Sharon, Shirley, Mike and Roger, Marshfield.

Also joinging in the celebration were two residents at the memorial home—Mrs. Barbara Letsch and Mrs. Louise Langfeldt.

Mrs. Molle’s husband died in 1945 and she continued living at the family farm with her son and family. She also has a daughter, Mrs. Otto (Elda) Raatz, who resides in Rib Lake but was unable to join her on her birthday.

Mrs. Molle had hobbies of sewing, crocheting, and doing other kinds of fancywork, but due to failing eyesight is now a bit handicapped. However, she still enjoys reading and watching television.
