Alexander, Cecil E. (21 June 1908 – 12 Dec. 1987)

Cecil E. Alexander, 79, Route 1, Owen, died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 1987, in the emergency room at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 15 in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity. The Rev. Timothy Duesenberg officiating and the burial was in the Colby Memorial Cemetery. Myrle Messer was the organist and Lislie Duesenberg and India Schafer were the singers. The Maurina Funeral Home was in charge of the services.

Pallbearers were Darrell Klessig, Jeff Lindekugel, Travis Lindekugel, Jason Lindekugel, Paul Jagoditsh and Charles Loos.

Cecil E. Alexander was born June 21, 1908 at Mount Hope in Grant County to Ernest and Berdina (Ball) Alexander. He had lived in Grant County until 1924 when he moved to the Town of Green Grove.

On Nov. 23, 1932 he was married to Evelyn Edblom. He was employed by the Clark County Highway Department until 1939 when he started farming in the Town of Green Grove until 1977 but then still continued to reside on the farm.

For a number of years he was supervisor for the Town of Green Grove. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1982.

In addition to his wife Evelyn, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Janice) Lindekugel, Loyal, and Mrs. Ely (Jean) Klessig, Colby; three brothers, Walter Alexander, Colby, Roscoe Alexander, Whitewater, Delos Alexander, Unity; two sisters, Mrs. Leora Lange, Milwuakee, Mrs. Esther Millin, Fennimore; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchilren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
