Haavisto, Doris (3 Oct. 1913 – 29 Dec. 1981)

Owen – Mrs. Doris Haavisto, 67, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Marshfield Convalescent Center.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Maurina Funeral Home. The Rev. Margaret Shephard of First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, is to officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The former Doris Pipkorn was born Oct. 3, 1913 in the town of Unity. On July 7, 1941 in Colby, she married Enio Haavisto. The couple farmed in the town of Green Grove.

Mr. Haavisto survives along with two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Nancy) Hanson of Owen and Mrs. Jean Haavisto of Abbotsford; six sons, Carl Pipkorn, and Rodney, Vernon, Dennis and Delbert Haavisto, all of Owen, and Gerald Haavisto of Marshfield; and six grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Adeline Thiel and Mrs. Marvin (Velda) Machon, both of Wisconsin Rapids; and four brothers, Otto, Adolph, Leo and Louis Pipkorn, all of Owen. Two daughters, one son, three brothers, and one sister are deceased.
