Peter Beaver, for whom Military services were held Friday morning, July 1, 1932, enlisted in Co. A, 2nd Wisconsin Infantry during the year of 1917. These troops later became Co. A, 127th. Infantry, 32nd division. He, with his company, sailed for France Feb. 8, 1918, following which he spent two months at the front where he was gassed. Following two months treatment for the effects of being gassed, Peter was sent home and honorably discharged at Camp Grant, Ill. He was honorably discharged on April 28, 1919.

The Loyal Post 175, American Legion, of which Peter was a member, escorted the funeral cortege to Auburndale where interment took place. Men who served in the same company with him acted as honorary pall bearers; almost 45 members of the Loyal Post were in attendance. Those in the firing squad were Henry Boe, Chester Smith, John Prust, Henry Vogel, Dale Hawley, V. O. Kauffman, Carl Christensen, Fred J. Dittner and George Bentzler. Color Guards were Oscar Murphy and John Castner.

The Pall Bearers, members of the Loyal Post No. 175, were B. A. Leatherdale, F. C. Christenson, A. J. Kreisner, William Smith, Harry Cole, Claude Catlin.

The Honorary Pall Bearers were: A. A. Hunter, Joe Seidl, Wilfred Kohlbach, Adolph Middlesread, Harry Wildish, Ed. Nelson, Wm. Rakow, Tony Sommers and Mr. Nolt.

Among those taking part in the services were members of the V. F. W. Marshfield. Which included the following V. F. W. members; Ed. Nelson, Joe Seidl, Wm. Rakow, A. A. Hunter, Wilfred Kohlbach, Adolph Middlesread, Harry Wildish, Tony Sommers and P. P. Hammerle.
