Bullock, Isabella M. (2 APR 1893)

Married, at the M. E. Church in this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.), on Sunday evening, April 2nd, 1893, by Rev. D. P. Olin, assisted by Thos. R. Biggar, Mr. Lewis Cole of Hurley, Wis., and Isabella M. Bullock of this city.

Mr. Cole is a gentleman highly esteemed by all who know him, and a young man well worthy of so excellent a bride as he has captured. His profession is that of engineer and he stands well up in his profession.

The bride is too well known in this place to need any encomiums from us. Having resided here from childhood, she has become identified with the place. To number her friends is to count the people residing in the city and vicinity, all are glad to call her friend, and the best wishes and hearty congratulations of an entire community follow her in her new relations.

The church was handsomely decorated; immediately in front of the altar was an arch of evergreens from the center of which was suspended a floral shoe.

Promptly at eight o’clock the bridal party entered the church, the bride escorted by Dr. D. R. Freeman and the groom by Mrs. Freeman, accompanied by the bridesmaids, Nina Hutchinson, Carry Vandercook and Laura Gotchy, and the groomsmen, W. D. Bartell, E. L. Wicker and Geo. Whitehouse. As they marched up the aisles the strains of the wedding march welled through the church. The bride and groom took positions immediately under the floral shoe where the solemn words were pronounced that joined them together for life.

The church was literally crowded by friends of the happy pair, who had gathered there to see them launched upon the sea of matrimony.

After the ceremony a large number of the friends of the newly mated pair gathered at the residence of Dr. D. R. Freeman where a reception was tendered them. Refreshments were served and a pleasant time enjoyed by all until the “wee sina’ hours” when Mr. And Mrs. Cole were taken to Abbotsford to catch the limited for Hurley and Besemer, taking with them the best wishes of an entire community.

There was a large number of handsome and valuable presents bestowed upon them.
