Surnames: PEDERSON LIND JORGENSON Source: CLARK COUNTY REPUBLICAN & PRESS (Neillsville, Wis.) 12/10/1914 Pederson, Oliver (4 APR 1857 – 6 DEC 1914) This vicinity was greatly shocked by the news that Oliver Pederson had met accidental death at Minneapolis Sunday morning while visiting at the home of his cousin, Mrs. Lind. He was employed with the electric light company at Prescott, Wis. and went up to Minneapolis to spend the Sunday with his cousin. He arrived in Minneapolis at 11 o’clock Saturday night, and sat up late visiting with his relatives, retiring at about 1 o’clock. In the morning when called for breakfast he was found dead in bed. He had failed to turn the gas quite completely off and the leakage caused his death as he slept. Deceased was born in Grin Trestjeld Solor, Norway, on April 4, 1857. He was married to Miss Jessie Jorgenson at Whitehall May 14, 1887. He bought a small farm in the northeast part of the city (Neillsville, Clark County), and in addition to his farm work did mason work and other labor. He was an honest industrious man, faithful in all things. He was for many years an active member of the Modern Woodmen. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mabel. The funeral will be held at the Presbyterian Church Thursday afternoon, Dec. 10, at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. S.B. Pinney officiating. The Modern Woodmen will attend in a body, their ritual service also being used. The members of the Woodmen camp will assemble at 1 o’clock at this hall. |
