Ferguson, Amelia (11 MAR 1843 – JAN 1916)

Mrs. J.W. Ferguson died last nigh about midnight at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.M. Jack. The end was not unexpected as she has gradually declined following a stroke of apoplexy received just before Thanksgiving. The funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 26 in the parlors of the Wenatchee Undertaking Company, Rev. Laurie conducted the religious services and the body will be held for the completion of the new mausoleum.

Mrs. Amelia Ferguson was born March 11, 1843 at Windsor, Ohio, and was married to J.W. Ferguson in 1869 at Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. Two children were born to this union, Mrs. J.W. Jack and Mr. J. Ferguson, both of this city. With the family Mrs. Ferguson came to Washington in 1889, settling at Tacoma, and moving to Wenatchee in 1894. Besides the son and daughter, there survive three sisters, Mary Palmer of Wenatchee, Mrs. H.L. Hart of Quincy, Cal., and Mrs. John Eargood of Madras, Oregon. Mrs. Ferguson was always of a retiring but kindly disposition. She was known to all the old timers of the valley and there is genuine grief at her death. The daughter, Mrs. J.M. Jack and her son, J.E. Ferguson have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement. (Wenatchee, Wash., Daily)
