Dodte, Olga (Marriage – 25 AUG 1915)

Wednesday evening Aug. 25, 1915, Judge Oscar W. Schoengarth and Miss Olga Dodte were united in marriage at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Dodte in Pine Valley, Clark County, Wis., Rev. L.B. Colman officiating. Aside from relatives of the contracting parties only a few close friends were present. The groom was attended by his brother Ed Schoengarth and the bride’s sister, Miss Clarice Dodte acted as bridesmaid. The bride wore a white lace gown over white taffeta and the bridesmaid work pink. The dining room was decorated in green and white; across the corner of the parlor was a floral arch, under which the ceremony took place. Bouquets of cut flowers also decorated the rooms.

The groom is one of the most prominent and best known men in Clark County. He was born here, being the son of Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Schoengarth of this city (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.). He graduated from the Neillsville High School in the class of 1898; he took the law course in the State University and after graduating returned to practice here with S.M. Marsh. He was elected Police Justice two terms and is serving his third term as County Judge. He is a man of conservative sound judgement, a progressive citizen, taking an active part in affairs of the community, and has a wide acquaintance throughout the state. While not a politician in the ordinary sense he has taken such a part as good citizenship demanded; besides local honors he has had the distinction of being elected a delegate to the National Republican Convention in Chicago in 1912. His ability and integrity as county judge is fully attested by the fact that he has three times been chosen to fill the place.

The bride also was born in Neillsville and grew to womanhood here. She graduated from Neillsville High School, the Oshkosh State Normal and the Watertown, Minn. Normal. She taught successfully in the city schools of Omro, Wis., and in (the rest of my copy was cut off)
