News Items-May 13, 1897 Surnames: PITTS BURNETT LUSING BORCHERT SALTER REUDEN SAGSTETTER HULL WHITMORE HUBBELL LAWRENCE Frank BURNETT, of Neillsville, while engaged in the science of boxing, one day last week was struck in the eye with a soft glove and a ruptured blood vessel was the result. Joseph A. PITTS was united in marriage to Miss Emma C. LUSING at the home of Joseph W. PITTS in Neillsville, Wednesday evening April 28, by Rev. G. N. Foster. The house of Ernest BORCHERT, a farmer of Colby, was burned with the contents last Saturday, causing a loss of about 800, insured for 350. County Judge Salter was called upon to marry a Colby couple recently, the partied being John REUDEN and Miss Theresa SAGSTETTER. Louis J. GLASS, of Neillsville, is drawing an increased pension nowadays from the government. Rev. Paul HULL, of Greenwood, sailed for England Saturday, to be gone about two months. Joseph WHITMORE, of Spencer, is rejoicing over an increase of pension recently granted. Mrs. Leonard HUBBELL, of Greenwood, died at her home April 30th, aged 20 years.
