Otto Braun

Colby – Otto Braun, 88, who farmed in the Dorchester and Colby areas, died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Colonial House of Colby Nursing Home.

The funeral will be at 11:15 a.m. Friday at First United Church of Christ with the Rev. Kenneth A. Dix officiating. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at Rux/Lulloff Funeral Home.

Mr. Braun was born Dec. 20, 1891 and attended Dorchester schools. Besides farming, he worked as a logger, was a dance hall inspector, drove school bus for Colby School District, and worked at Colby Cheese Box Factory.

He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Colby Senior Citizens and Colby Scott Club.

His first marriage was to Hattie Klabunde in 1913. They were divorced in 1949 and in December 1951, he married Lulu Thompson Jewett. She survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Kademan, Hemet, Calif., Harry Braun, Greenwood, Arthur Braun, Brookings, Ore., and Clarence Braun, Poplar Grove, Ill., five stepchildren, Alice Jost and Elmer Jewett, both of California, Hazel Langston, New Your City, Harold Jewett, Waupace, and June Niemi, Withee. There are 26 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren

Also surviving is a sister, Mrs Louise Rau, Medford. A daughter, two brothers, a sister, and his parents predeceased him.
