Boon, age 79, N6380 State Hwy 73, Neillsville, died at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998 at Memorial Nursing Home, in Neillsville. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 8, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Christie, Wis. with the Rev. Kevin Hanke officiating. Judy Bobrofsky was organist for the congregational singing. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers were her six sons. The body layed in state, at Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville, on Friday from 4-8 p.m., and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 until time of service. Lucille was born on Feb. 5, 1919 to Erick and Elsie (Wieting) Lueck in the town of York. She married Alfred Boon on Oct. 2, 1941, in South Milwaukee. She attended the Forman School in the town of York. As a young woman, Lucille was a housekeeper in Neillsville and Milwaukee. After her marriage she lived a short while in Darlington, Wis., returning to Christie in December of 1941, where she raised their eight children. Lucille helped run the farm for 36 years and was also a bookkeeper for the family construction business. In 1982, they moved to their new home in Christie. The couple spent the past 20 winters in Brownsville, Texas. She was a life-long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Christie and its Ladies Aide. She was also a member of Kountry Kitchen Homemakers. Lucille is survived by her husband, Alfred of Christie; six sons; Harold (Nancy) Boon, Donald (Carol) Boon, Melvin (Cindy) Boon, all of Neillsville; Allen (Beverly) Boon, Duane (Brenda) Boon, both of Greenwood, Wis., and Robert (Nalani) Boon, Honolulu, Hawaii; two daughters; Lois (Louis) Hagedorn, Neillsville, and Carolyn (John) Raine, Marshfield; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; Norma (Wallace) Erickson, Neillsville, and Bernita (Vern) Swieso, Denver, Colo. She was preceded in death by one, sister, Lorraine, and twin brothers in infancy. She was also, preceded in death by a brother, Wilmer Lueck. The family will establish a memorial fund for St. John’s Lutheran Church of Christie at a later date.
