Even Though “Never” is a long time we are still inclined to say that never was there or will there be a lovelier, prettier wedding in Loyal than the one that took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. O.P. Poulton, Tuesday, January 17, 1933 when their only daughter Dorothy Mae became the bride of Douglas Allen McPherson.

At 12 o’clock noon the guests consisting of members of the immediate families and a few close friends assembled in the living room and as the wedding march was being played by Mrs. H. P. Wanner, the bride, lovely in a dress of Roosevelt blue crepe, carrying a bouquet of pink and white carnations, accompanied by her bridesmaid Miss Eva Clouse, met the groom and his best man, Mr. Arthur Fisher at a beautiful altar, where the Rev. Norman Grandy pronounced the solemn service that made them man and wife.

After best wishes and congratulations had been extended the company retired to the dining room, festive in decoration of pink and white, and partook of the delicious meal prepared and served by two friends of the family Mrs. C. M. Taylor and Mrs. Joe Motchenbacher. The pink and white wedding cake made by the bride’s mother graced the center of the table.

The bride has lived all her life in Loyal, is a graduate of our high school, always having a prominent part in its activities, the work of the M. E. Church of which she is a member has always taken first place in her life, as one of the choir, teacher in the Sunday School and President of the Epworth League she has been a willing and faithful worker and will be greatly missed.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Lyle. He is an industrious young man and for the last two years he had employment with the C. E. Bladgett Cheese, Butter and Egg Co. of Marshfield. He has lived in Loyal a short time but has always been active in the work of the church and the fact that he had the foresight to choose and the power to win the bride he did recommends him to her friends as nothing else could.

Following the dinner and amid a shower of rice and good wishes the happy couple left for a trip to Gresham, Green Bay, Sheboygan and DePere. Their numerous friends join in best wishes for their future happiness.
