Loos, Elaine A. (23 July 1928 – 16 Aug. 2005)

Elaine A Loos, age 77, Chili, died Tuesday Aug. 16, 2005, at her residence in Chili after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mrs. Loos was born July 23, 1928 in Marshfield, a daughter of August and Bertha (Neubauer) Bores. She attended Marshfield Public Schools. On Sept. 1, 1949, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield, she was united in marriage to Harley Loos.

Elaine worked at Weinbrenner Shoes for several years before she and Harley purchased the tavern in Chili. They owned and operated Harley and Elaine’s Bar for nearly 33 years. Elaine was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Chili. Some of her interests included baking, spending time with friends, bowling, playing cards and cheering on the Brewers. She enjoyed donating some of her money by playing bingo and other games of chance in her spare time. The greatest enjoyment for Elaine was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Elaine is lovingly survived by her husband Harley, of Chili; her children, Nancy (Dan) Hebert, of Arizona City, AZ; Donald “Joe” (Cari) Loos, of Chili, Jay (Paula) Loos of Hewitt; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Robert Bores of Marshfield; Gerald Bores of Stratford; Lucille Schrader of Marshfield; and Catherine Konkel, of California.

Preceding her in death were her parents, nine sisters and brothers, Evelyn Krohn, Helen Vlahor, Eleanor Schnitzler, Betty Jane, George, Fredrick, Melvin, Ervin and Raymond Bores.

A Memorial service was held Sat. Aug. 20, at Zion Lutheran Church in Granton. The Rev. John Trewyn officiated. Caroline Helm served as the organist. Interment of Ashes will be held at a later date. Hansen Funeral Home assisted the family with funeral arrangements.

The children of Elaine would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the years of love and friendship shown from the community of Chili and surrounding area. Elaine’s passing will leave a void in the hearts and souls of all that knew her.
